Education
Grapevine is well served by the Grapevine/Colleyville Independent School District and is the largest attended ISD in Grapevine. The GCISD is one in which staff, students and parents are committed to excellence and the 13,000 students are afforded a multitude of opportunities to learn and grow. In addition to our excellent K-12 system, private school options are also available. A broad spectrum of higher educational opportunities are also readily available in the area with a wide-range of top notch universities, law schools, dental schools and medical schools.
The Carroll ISD is an excellent K-12 public school system that serves a portion of Grapevine. Carroll ISD consists of 11 schools serving more than 7,800 students and 1,000 employees. This district is one of the largest in the state of Texas to earn the top rating of "Exemplary" by the Texas Education Agency. CISD has a zero percent drop out rate, a 97 percent attendance rate and consistently scores above the state and national averages on assessments. Five of CISD's schools have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education. Seven of 11 campuses were named to the Texas Business Education Coalition's 2011 Honor Roll. Carroll ISD earned the coveted 5A Lone Star Cup in 2012 and 2013 for achieving the highest number of points in academics, athletics and fine arts competitions. Approximately 98 percent of Carroll's seniors go on to attend a college or university after graduation. More than 90 percent of Carroll students take a college entrance exam, with composite scores on the SAT and ACT that exceed state and national averages. Carroll offers a full array of Advanced Placement and Honors courses, a challenging curriculum for gifted and talented students and special programs for students with special needs.
